We have designed this 18-month programme to help talented individuals get started in their careers, and it could see you grow in a number of key roles.

Upon joining the programme you will be part of a close-knit peer group who will receive:

  • A formal induction to the Bank, which will give you the opportunity to find out about the unique work of the different areas of the Bank
  • Technical training which will equip you with the skills for your role
  • Business skills training which will underpin the skills needed for your role and support you in developing your career further.

Level 4: Professional Accounting/Taxation Technician (BPP)
As a Professional Accounting/Taxation Technician, you will have a flair for financial reporting with accuracy and efficiency. You will learn how to apply your role within a business framework, understanding the systems and processes used, as well as standard accounting and tax practised employed. As a qualified Professional Accounting/Taxation Technician, your contribution to your team and organisation will be valued by your accuracy, efficiency and professional approach.

If you are successful in securing a place on his programme, you could be allocated to one of the following areas: Finance or Resolution.

Level 4: Software Developer (Just IT)
If Software Development is the industry you would like to break into then this apprenticeship will fast-track your way there. You’ll build in-demand tech skills and master coding languages, alongside getting stuck in to exciting projects, you’ll spend 80% of your time getting hands on development experience with the Bank, and 20% mastering new skills in your training sessions with Just IT.

The Level 4 pathway has a typical duration of 20 months, during which time you will learn:

  • BCS Systems Development Essentials (Knowledge Module 1).
  • Cloud certified developer apache, Hadoop, C++, PHP, Drupal, Oracle SQL Developer, Oracle Java Certified, MCP.net, MTA/MCP programme in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3, C# (Knowledge Module 2).

The Level 4 Software Developer pathways is recognised for entry onto the BCS Register of IT Technicians.

If you are successful in securing a place on his programme, you will be allocated to Technology.

Level 4: Associate Project Manager (Just IT)
Every project regardless of size needs to be skilfully managed to ensure its success. Associate Project Managers knows what needs to be achieved, how it will be completed and how much it will cost to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. To become a successful project manager, individuals need to possess excellent planning and risk management skills, alongside being able to communicate effectively to individuals.

Just IT’s level 4 Associate Project Management qualification certified by The Association for Project Management, focuses on teaching the latest approaches and techniques. This will enable you to make practical improvements in how you approach your work, and set you up for future learning and career development.

If you are successful in securing a place on his programme, you will be allocated to Technology.

Who are we looking for?

We want people who are eager to learn and serious about building a career at the heart of the UK economy. You will also need to know what we do, share our purpose, and be genuinely motivated to join the Bank of England.

In terms of grades, we will be looking for a minimum of five GCSEs at C (4) and above, including English and Math’s, and at least 72 UCAS points (either passed or predicted) from up to three A Levels or equivalent using the 2017 UCAS Tariff System.
